Teaching Day at Prince Henrys

Earlier in the year I was asked to join some of the sixth form students at Prince Henrys Grammar school in Leeds. I spent a couple of days with the fashion and textile students. We created fascinators from black lace and feathers. These were to be worn at the annual end of year fashion show. I made up small packs of materials for each student, containing everything they would need to create a modern head piece. I also worked one to one with three of the students, to help them create bespoke pieces to fit with their final garment collections.
It was a great experience and really gave me the teaching bug! The students were great and really into their work. I also have to say that the standard of their work was exceptional.

I'm also delighted to report that they want me to come back to work with next years students.
I am waiting to receive pictures of the class from their form teacher, until then I have some from the end of year show.
It was a great night with plenty of talented people involved. I could definately see some stars of the future!
